Our Motto: We are here to learn
If the students remember this, it will help them towards managing their own behavior. As a teacher, if I remember this, it will help create lessons that correspond with the appropriate SOLs and educational goals.
An Opening Note on Classroom Management:

Classroom management is a large part of teaching. And, a large part of classroom management is planning. This can include preparing the physical space of the classroom, making sure you have the necessary tools and supplies at your disposal. It also means identifying expectations for students. This is especially important in the first few weeks of school, as this is when children will learn what behavior and rituals are required of them. However, a teacher must not forget to take the time to offer refreshers and reminders of these expectations regularly and also as needed.

Keeping students engaged in their lessons can also go a long way in managing a classroom. Many of these preparations and teacher actions will take place behind the scenes and are physically observable only indirectly in relation to their results. In addition, teachers need to be adaptable, constantly ready to adjust to factors such as time limits and reactionary behavior among their pupils. These adaptations must be made on the spot. There is no pause button a live classroom.
