ABOUT ME

My name is Barbara Guy and I'm a substitute teacher with Spotsylvania County Schools but I am also a graduate student at the University of Mary Washington. Currently I am working towards my Master's Degree in Education. My undergraduate degree is in Psychology, which I received from the University of Mary Washington in 2007.

In addition to being a teacher, I also work for Building Healthy Connections, a local female owned business that provides therapeutic services to the Fredericksburg area.  I first became affiliated with BHC as a college student in 2005.  I began working with them as a therapeutic mentor working with at risk youth.  I now work there as a court ordered visitation supervisor creating a safe environment for children to visit with their parents.  I'm also the spread sheet guru of their facility and help them to keep their computerized accounts updated.

My ultimate goal, upon receiving my Master's degree, is to work full time as an elementary school teacher and pass along the skills and love of learning that have been bestowed upon me by wonderful teachers and mentors over the years.
